Summary. Community Gamechangers is a community of practice I created with the goal of training community members to create equity based STEM curriculum. I lead the design, marketing, and facilitation of this project with a focus on sustaining the work done by the NSF Rec2Tech project.
Coding to Connect
Type. Educator Workshop
Summary. Coding to Connect is a sequel to my excellently received, state-accredited Coding Across the Curriculum course. Learners that have experience with block based coding are challenged to create equity-based coding curriculum that features community building, text-based Python programming and physical computing projects.
Aquatic Adventures.
Type. Youth Workshop
Summary. Aquatic Adventures is an immersive, six-part program designed to introduce youth to careers in marine science through hands-on maker projects. Lessons include rescuing lost sensors, saving beached horseshoe crabs, and exploring bioluminescence with paper circuits.
Medical Heroes.
Type. Youth Workshop
Summary. Medical Heroes is a 12 part program designed to introduce elementary youth to biomedical engineering and medical robotics. Learners use micro:bits to recreate existing medical technology and build computational thinking skills.
